Saint-Tropez Yacht Transfer
Private chauffeur transfer to the old port of Saint-Tropez, where superyachts moor stern-to along the quay — from Nice Airport by road or boat.
No quay in the world is more associated with yachting than the old port of Saint-Tropez, where superyachts moor stern-to right against the cafés and the crowds. It is also the trickiest of the great marinas to reach, tucked at the end of its own peninsula. Here is how to transfer to Saint-Tropez — by road or by boat.
The legendary old port
Saint-Tropez's Vieux Port is yachting theatre. The largest yachts moor stern-to along the Quai Jean Jaurès, their transoms facing the terrace of Sénéquier and the pastel houses behind, while the whole town parades past. It is glamorous, informal and unlike any other marina on the coast.
That singular setting is why owners bring their yachts here every summer, despite it being the hardest port to reach.
- Superyachts moor stern-to along the quay
- Right against the cafés and the old town
- The most photographed port in yachting
- A summer fixture despite its remoteness
Getting there: road or boat
Saint-Tropez sits about 110 kilometres from Nice Airport at the end of a peninsula, so the road runs roughly an hour and a half to two hours — a scenic private-chauffeur run from around €400 in an E-Class or €500 in a V-Class. Many guests instead fly or drive to Sainte-Maxime or Port Grimaud and cross the gulf by boat shuttle.
A chauffeur can handle either: the full road transfer, or the drive to the boat landing with the crossing arranged to meet the yacht.
- About 110 km, roughly 1h30–2h by road
- From €400 (E-Class) or €500 (V-Class)
- Or drive to Sainte-Maxime and cross by boat
- Chauffeur coordinates road or boat legs
Peak-season logistics
In July and August the single road around the gulf can gridlock, and timing becomes everything. A chauffeur who knows the peninsula plans around the worst of it — travelling off-peak, using the boat shuttle when the road is jammed, and keeping the crew updated on the arrival window.
It is the difference between a relaxed arrival and hours lost in summer traffic.
Ashore in Saint-Tropez
Off the yacht, Saint-Tropez is Place des Lices for the market and pétanque, the Citadelle for the view, and above all the beach clubs of Pampelonne a short drive south. A chauffeur links the port, the town and the beaches without the parking battle they are infamous for.

Frequently asked questions
How long is the transfer from Nice Airport to Saint-Tropez?
By road, roughly an hour and a half to two hours over about 110 kilometres, longer in peak-season traffic around the gulf.
Is it better to reach Saint-Tropez by road or boat?
Both work: a full road transfer, or a drive to Sainte-Maxime or Port Grimaud and a boat shuttle across the gulf, which avoids summer gridlock.
How much is a transfer to Saint-Tropez?
From around €400 in an E-Class or €500 in a V-Class from Nice Airport, reflecting the longer distance to the peninsula.
Why is Saint-Tropez harder to reach in summer?
A single road serves the peninsula, so July and August traffic can gridlock; a chauffeur plans around it or switches to the boat shuttle.
